Twist Dynamics Gen 2 Performance Seats for Polaris Slingshot.

Polaris Slingshot Seat Buying Guide: Comfort, Fitment & Options

Buying Polaris Slingshot seats starts with how you want the cockpit to feel: more support, different cushioning, easier entry or a custom appearance. The right upgrade must also match your model year, seat base, brackets and budget.

This guide walks through replacement seats, custom seats and seat covers, then explains the options available at Slingshot Only. Use it to choose the type of upgrade first and the product second.

1. Decide whether you need replacement seats or seat covers

Replacement seats: change the shape and support

Consider replacement seats when you want a different seating pocket, cushion or bolster shape. Compare how the seat supports your hips, thighs and back, and check whether the replacement reuses the original base, recliner or sliders.

Custom-built seats: choose the upholstery and options

Custom seats let you choose from the manufacturer’s available materials, colors, stitching and accessories. They suit owners building a coordinated interior or seeking specific options such as seat heating or adjustable lumbar support. Budget for selected upgrades and production time.

Seat covers: refresh a compatible existing seat

Choose covers when the existing seat shape works for you and the priority is upholstery, appearance or the added padding of a particular cover. A cover does not replace the underlying seat structure. Match the cover to the actual seat style; model year alone is not enough if the seats have already been changed.

2. Check comfort, support and your driving position

Start with what you want to improve: cushioning, support around your hips, room around your arms, ease of entry or a different upholstery feel. Whenever possible, sit in the seat before ordering. Check your normal driving posture, pedal reach, steering-wheel clearance and seat-belt position.

A deep pocket or more prominent bolster can feel supportive once seated, but entry and exit matter too. For taller drivers, check head clearance with your usual helmet and roof. Seat and bracket changes can affect your position; neither a product photo nor a fitment range establishes your final seating height.

For a coordinated comfort upgrade, our Canvas Frame vs Gullwing roof guide helps you consider overhead coverage alongside the seat choice.

3. Choose materials and features for an open cockpit

Look for clearly described upholstery and care requirements. Marine-grade vinyl and synthetic upholstery are available on products in our range. Check the selected material’s resistance to water, sun and fading, and how it should be cleaned. A material description is not automatically a waterproof rating for the entire seat assembly.

Compare smooth surfaces, textured panels, piping and stitching for both appearance and everyday use. Request a material sample or configuration preview where available; photos and screens can change how a color looks.

  • Heating: confirm which seat gets the option and what electrical installation is required.
  • Adjustable lumbar support: consider whether the adjustment suits your preferred posture.
  • Bolsters: compare support once seated with how easily you can enter and exit.
  • Custom upholstery: approve panel colors, stitching and embroidery before a build-to-order purchase.

4. Verify fitment, brackets and retained adjustments

Before ordering, identify your model year, trim, existing seat model and mounting hardware. Confirm driver and passenger adjustment requirements, slider travel and clearance around the center console. Do not assume a seat sold for the Slingshot fits every year or every modified bracket.

  • Twist Gen 2: listed for 2015–2026 with the correct brackets. Select 2015–2021 or 2022-and-newer brackets.
  • PRP SR and SR SS: our featured listings cover 2015–2021. Do not assume these specific products fit a 2022–2026 vehicle.
  • Existing modifications: tell us about aftermarket sliders, brackets, seat belts, audio equipment or other changes around the seats.

PRP’s factory-base mounting description applies to a compatible original setup. If yours has been changed, confirm what must be retained or replaced. For either brand, use the correct installation instructions and check all mounting and restraint connections before driving. Ask Slingshot Only about professional installation if you prefer assistance.

5. Compare the complete installed cost

Check whether the price is for one seat, a pair, covers or a seat-and-bracket package. Add any required adapters, selected upholstery upgrades, shipping, taxes and installation. A seats-only price and a bracket-inclusive price are different offers.

For a custom order, confirm the final configuration, production schedule and applicable order terms. For a standard color, verify current availability before planning an installation or a trip.

Replacement seat options at Slingshot Only

Seat option Listed pair price Best reason to choose it
Twist Gen 2 with brackets $1,099.00 Driver and passenger seats with brackets for your selected year range
Twist Gen 2 seats only $649.99 Seat pair for a build where correct adapters are already available or purchased separately
PRP SR custom pair From $1,199.99 Custom upholstery and a molded Touring Cushion
PRP SR SS custom pair From $1,399.99 Custom upholstery with a contoured shape designed for elbow room

All four listings above are for a driver-and-passenger pair. PRP upgrades can increase the final price. Taxes, shipping, installation and any additional mounting requirements should be checked separately. The $649.99 Twist pair does not include brackets; compare complete installation packages when budgeting.

Our quick recommendation: Start with the $1,099 Twist Gen 2 bracket package for a straightforward upgrade. Start with PRP if choosing the upholstery and optional comfort features is central to your build.

Twist Dynamics Gen 2: support, value and straightforward ordering

Twist Gen 2 seats combine a deeper seating pocket, contoured high-density foam and pronounced side bolsters. The pocket and bolsters are designed to support you through daily driving, longer trips and cornering. For buyers who want a more supportive seat shape without designing upholstery panel by panel, this is our first recommendation.

Materials suited to an open cockpit

The listings specify marine-grade vinyl and automotive-grade PVC leather, with water-, UV- and fade-resistant materials. The easy-clean surfaces are useful for a Slingshot exposed to sun and everyday dirt. PVC leather is a synthetic upholstery material; water resistance should not be treated as a promise that every part of the seat is waterproof.

Three coordinated color combinations

Choose Black/Black, Black/Red or Black/Blue. Each combination currently has the same price within its package, making it simple to match the cockpit to your build without changing the base seat cost.

Choose the package that matches your installation

  • With brackets — $1,099: includes both seats, mounting brackets for the selected year range and installation instructions.
  • Seats only — $649.99: includes both seats, with the required mounting adapters purchased separately.

The bracket package is listed as a bolt-on replacement using basic hand tools, with typical installation under 30 minutes per seat. Actual time depends on your setup and experience. The store lists typical 1–3-business-day shipping for 2015–2021 configurations; confirm the selected color and 2022-and-newer bracket availability before ordering.

PRP: build the seats around your interior and riding preferences

PRP SR and SR SS are our recommendations for customers who want a custom interior. Both store listings offer choices in colors, materials, stitching and accents, with optional heat, adjustable air lumbar support and embroidery. Driver and passenger upgrades can be selected individually.

That flexibility matters when two people want different features: you can discuss lumbar support for one seat, heating for both, or an upholstery combination that ties into the rest of the vehicle.

PRP SR: custom design with a Touring Cushion

The SR is the lower-priced PRP seat pair featured here. PRP specifies a molded foam Touring Cushion and attachment to the factory seat base and recliner mechanism, retaining the adjustments provided by the compatible original setup. It is a strong starting point when you want custom upholstery and touring-oriented cushioning.

PRP SR SS: a different contour for elbow room

PRP describes the SR SS shape as contoured for elbow room. If cockpit space around your arms is a deciding factor, compare that shape with the SR before choosing. Its higher starting price does not automatically mean it will feel better for every body type; fit and preferred support should lead the decision.

Seat-cover options at Slingshot Only

Our custom PRP cover listings start at $599.99 per pair. Options include colors, stitching and embroidery. The early-seat cover listing and 2017–2021 listing apply to different configurations. Send a photo of your existing seats so we can confirm the correct cover before you order.

UAS padded seat covers are listed at $857, with black marine-grade vinyl, added padding and choices of stitching/piping and pattern. The listing excludes factory SLR and R seats; confirm your actual seat style and year. Check the listing for package contents before comparing its price with a seat pair.

Seat covers and other Twist seat sets

We also list a separate Twist Dynamics Slingshot Seat Set for 2015–2024 at $475 per set, with brackets sold separately. It is a different listing from Gen 2. Compare its specific features and available colors rather than applying the Gen 2 specifications to it.

What should I look for when buying Slingshot seats?

Start with body fit, cushion and bolster shape, model-year compatibility, mounting requirements and upholstery. Then compare the full installed price and any custom options.

Should I buy new seats or seat covers?

Choose replacement seats to change the seating shape or support. Choose compatible covers when you like the existing seat and want new upholstery, styling or the padding offered by a specific cover.

Do aftermarket Slingshot seats fit all years?

No. Fitment depends on the product and mounting configuration. For example, our Twist Gen 2 listings cover 2015–2026 with the correct brackets, while the PRP SR and SR SS seats featured here are listed for 2015–2021.

Are seat brackets included?

It depends on the package. Twist Gen 2 is offered with brackets or as seats only. PRP describes mounting to a compatible factory base. Confirm all parts needed for your existing setup.

Will new seats change my seating height?

The seat, cushion and bracket combination can affect your position. Confirm the dimensions and check pedal reach, steering clearance and headroom with your roof and usual helmet.

Which seats are best for long rides?

The best choice is the one that fits your body and supports your preferred posture. Compare cushion feel, thigh support, room around your arms and available lumbar adjustment. Sit in the seat before ordering when possible.

Can I add heat or lumbar support?

Some custom seat configurations offer these features. Our PRP SR and SR SS listings include optional driver and passenger heat and adjustable air lumbar support. Confirm option pricing and installation requirements.

Are prices per seat or per pair?
